Kayano continued working in the sector while studying and funded her education by working. Beginning in 2010, Kayano has worked at Pro-Fit and appeared in the original video animation Princess Resurrection. She also did some voice work for the anime sequel A Certain Magical Index II, in which she played Itsuwa.

In Hyōka, she portrayed Mayaka Ibara. Kayano and Satomi Satō sang the show’s conclusion songs “Madoromi no Yakusoku” and “Kimi ni Matsuwaru Mystery,” which they performed together.
