Vinay Kumar, professionally known as Vinay Forrt is an Indian film and stage actor who was born in Fort Kochi, Kerala. After graduating from the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune with a master’s degree in acting, he has worked for more than a decade in theatre. He made his cinematic debut in Malayalam with the movie Ritu (2009).
Vinay Fort was born in Fort Kochi, Kerala, to M. V. Mani and Sujatha. His birth name was Vinay Kumar, and he adopted the latter as a tribute to his birthplace. He has a sister, Suma, and a brother, Syam. He went to St John De Britto Anglo-Indian High School in Fort Kochi for his education.

He began his career as a street performer before becoming an actor in the film industry. He previously worked as a restaurant server, a coffee shop barista, a medical store cashier, and a call center employee. He was active in Lokadharmi Theater’s plays during his first year of study for his degree. Later, he lowered his degree to pursue a bachelor’s in acting at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune, India and earned a master’s. For almost a decade, as an actor and activist, he has been an enthusiastic supporter of Indian Theater. Vinay has received the National Scholarship from the Government of India for the Best Senior Theatre Actor (2004-2006). He is also a contemporary dancer.
