She married Malayalam actor Rajeev Pillai on February 9, 2016. She lived with him for close to 10 years before they met at a film shoot in 2005. They have a daughter named Aesha who was born in 2014.
She also appeared in an Nandini Milk commercial with actresses Shruti Hassan and Manjari Phadnis before her debut.
She has worked in the theatre for over seven years. She made her debut in Gautham Menon’s 2012 bilingual films Neethaane En Ponvasantham and Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu, playing as Jenny, a friend of the character played by Samantha. After her first Tamil film, she appeared in major roles opposite N. Santhanam in Sundar C’s Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru (2005), Malini 22 Palayamkottai (2007), and Ramayya Vasthavayya (2011). She has worked in several Tamil films, including as an actress in two 2014 Pongal movies, Jilla and Veeram. She has a cameo appearance in the Telugu film Aagadu as a bar dancer.
Vidyullekha is a finalist on the popular dance competition Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7. She has appeared in the 2012 Telugu film Bachchan, which features her brother Rishi and Prabhu Deva.
Vidyullekha is the ambassador of Kronokare herbal shampoo. She was the brand ambassador of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in 2015. In 2016, she appeared in a commercial for Titan Raga timepieces. She has been a part of the Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom comic show.
