The year 1939 was the year in which Mala Aravindan, a prominent film actor known for his comedic parts, was born in Ernakulum district. T K Aravindan was his original name, and Mala Aravindan became his stage name. His father died when he was young, and the family moved to Mala near Thrissur. He had a strong enthusiasm for Tabla playing from an early age, and his mother took him to Cochin Mohammed Ustad – a well-known Tabla artist. He began his career as a Tabla artist by performing at Kottayam National Theaters Nadakashala and other troop’s stage plays.

He had acted in numerous character parts throughout his career, and he was given Kerala State Nataka Academy’s Best Actor prize for his part in Nidhi. The play Nidhi is from the Sooryasoma troop. He has appeared in more than ten movies. Unfortunately, the film did not come out.

Mala Chettan (also known as Mr. Mala) was born to Kannan and Geetha in 1924 in a village called Chirayanthapuram, which is near the city of Coimbatore. He married Geetha and had two children with her. On January 19, 2015, he suffered a heart attack and was admitted to a private hospital in Coimbatore. Later that month, he was on a ventilator until his death on January 28, leaving behind memorable memories for everyone.
