Madhupal Kannambath, popularly known as Madhupal, is a well-known actor, director, scriptwriter, and short story writer from Kerala. His father owned a cinema theater in Palakkad before he moved to Calicut. That’s how he got his love for movies. He worked as an assistant director on Bharath Gopi and Rajeev Anchal’s films before making his acting debut in Kashmeeram in 1994, when he took the role of the antagonist who didn’t show up for filming. He was named best debutant for his performance as a terrorist in the film. He’s starred in more than 90 films and played a variety of character roles, both good and bad, small and large before attempting to be an independent director. As an actor, he has appeared in movies such as Susanna, Mark Antony, Guru, Snehadooth, Agnisakshi, Margam. Apart from Malayalam, he has performed in other languages like Tamil, Hindi, and English.

He began his career in films as a director and later switched to television. He has worked on several series for Amritha TV, including Kazcha (2013), which he directed. The directorial debut Thalappavu and its sequel Ozhimuri were well-received nationally and internationally, winning several national and international prizes.
