Rima is also trained in Taekwondo, Chao, a Manipuri martial art form, and Kalaripayattu. She was the semifinalist in Vodafone Thakadhimi before entering the Miss Kerala pageant. She went back to Bangalore after that and began pursuing her modeling career there. It was then that she returned confident for Miss Kerala, but she came third instead. Director Lal Jose spotted her in one of his favorite magazine covers and wished to sign her for his Tamil film “Mazhai Varappoguthu,” which did not come true. She was then cast in Shyamaprasad’s film “Ritu” as the lead actress Varsha, her first professional role. This marked her professional debut and was well received. She later played Thessa in “22 Female Kottayam,” which became a box-office success as well as a critically acclaimed film. In 2012, the movie came out, and she performed particularly well in it. The Kerala Government gave her the Best Actress Award for her performance in “22 Female Kottayam.” Rima has now confirmed that she will continue working after marriage, despite earlier reports to the contrary. She explained that she wouldn’t want her professional and personal lives to get mixed.
