M G Soman was a South Indian actor. He performed in Malayalam movies. His real name is Somashekharan Nair. He was born on October 28, 1941, in Tiruvalla, Kerala. At the young age of seven, he launched his drama club with his friends and starred in Manaltharikal Garjikkunnu. He was born to K.N. Govinda Panicker and P. K. Bhavaniyamma. He served in the Indian Air Force before becoming an actor.
He began his career in the Indian Army and later joined Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair’s Jayasree drama troupe. He subsequently relocated to South India to pursue a film career. Gayatri, directed by P N Menon in 1973, was his debut feature film. He had been a versatile actor who performed comic roles, hero roles, bad guy roles, and supporting parts. During his time as an active actor in the industry, he was the most active star.
