Sripriya – Sripriya is a Tamil actress, film director, and politician from Tamil Nadu. She has acted in more than 300 Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi films. She has also directed Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu films, including Drushyam, which was released in 2014. She is a member of the core committee of Makkal Needhi Maiam, a political organization established by Kamal Haasan.

Sripriya was born on March 5, 1959, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. She went to school at Church Park Convent School in Chennai. She is the great-granddaughter of a renowned musician. She comes from a musical family that includes her uncles Natiyakalachakravarthy Padmashri, K. N. Dhandayuthapani Pillai, and Nadaswara Chakravarthy Shri Rajamanickam Pillai. Sripriya married actor Rajkumar Sethupathy, the younger brother of actress Latha, in 1988. The pair has two children- a daughter Sneha and a son Nagarjun.

She helmed Malini 22 Palayamkottai, focusing on sexual assaults against women. “Making this film is my way of expressing [my] outrage,” she told the Indian Express in an interview.
She has also worked as a television director. By 2007, she had directed five serials, one of which she considers Viduthalai to be her finest work. She has directed five films: two in Tamil, two in Kannada and one in Telugu.
