Sreemukhi began her career as a TV host by hosting Adhurs and Super Singer 9 before making her film debut. She made her career debut as Raaji in Julai, the younger sister of Allu Arjun, directed by Trivikram Srinivas and Prema Ishq Kaadhal as lead actress in Pavan Sadineni’s direction. She has acted in Nenu Sailaja as the sister of Ram, and also played in Swecha as Swecha’s sister. In 1999, she played a small part in Sekhar Kammula’s Life is Beautiful before becoming the main star in Dhanalakshmi Talupu Tadithey and Nara Rohit’s Savitri. She also made her debut in Tamil, Ettuthikum Madhayaanai, with Sathya. She teamed up with him again for the film Aagattoru Kannamma. In 2015, she crossed the language barrier in Kannada cinema with her Telugu-Kannada bilingual feature Chandrika.
