Rie Kugimiya is a Japanese voice actress and singer. Her best-known anime characters are Alphonse Elric in the Fullmetal Alchemist series, Kiana in Honkai Impact 3rd, Kagura in Gin Tama, and Happy in Fairy Tail.

She was chosen as the Best Voice Actress in 1997 for her work at I’m Enterprise, which was held at the first-ever summer school for voice actors sponsored by Japan Narration Institute. She became a member of I’m Enterprise later.
She initially played the part of a young girl throughout most of her debut, using her voice tone to do so. She was later cast as a juvenile figure, such as Taiki in Twelve Kingdoms and Alphonse Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist, becoming active in managing various personalities.
In addition, Kugimiya has played a number of tsundere characters, including Louise in The Familiar of Zero series and Nagi Sanzenin in Hayate the Combat Butler. In 2008, she won the 2nd Seiyu Awards’ Best Actresses in supporting roles award. At the 3rd Seiyu Awards, she won for Best Actress in a Leading Role. In the Tamagotchi fandom, she is recognized for her role as Mametchi in the Tamagotchi movies and anime. Her voice has been used on several items, including Mugen Puchipuchi Moe, a virtual keychain bubble-wrap popping game.
She also appears on stage and participates in numerous readings and stages.
She also portrayed Shana in the anime series Shakugan no Shana. She’s best known for her work as Louise in The Familiar of Zero, Nagi Sanzenin in Hayate the Combat Butler, Taiga Aisaka in Toradora!, Aguri Madoka/Cure Ace in DokiDoki! PreC, She’s been dubbed the “Queen of Tsundere” by some of her followers. The actress is currently managed by the talent agency I’m Enterprise.
She was recognized for Best Actress in Leading Role in the premiere Seiyu Awards for her role as Louise in The Familiar of Zero, and she was also nominated for Best Actress in Supporting Role for her part as Kagura in Gintama. Yūko Kugimiya and Mitsuki Saiga were both nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the second Seiyu Awards, where they shared the award. For the roles of Taiga Aisaka in Toradora! and Nabari no Ou, Kugimiya won Best Actress at the third Seiyu Awards.
