Raghubir Yadav is an Indian film, stage, and television actor, music composer, singer, and set designer. He made his feature film debut in Massey Sahib (1985), in which he played the title role. He has won two International Awards for Best Actor for Massey Sahib, a FIPRESCI Critics’ Choice Award, the Venice Film Festival in 1986, and the IFFI Best Actor Award (Male): Silver Peacock Award at the 11th International Film Festival of India in 1987.

Yadav has acted and sung in over 70 plays and over 2500 shows as part of the Parsi Theatre Company, including traveling by caravans, living in canvas tents on makeshift stages in rural areas, towns, and cities throughout India (1967–1973). He was a member of the Rangoli Puppet Theater, Lucknow (1973–1974), where he performed with glove puppets. He has acted in around 40 plays in over 2000 performances at the National School of Drama Repertory (1977–1986). He’s also worked on music, sets, costumes, and masks.
In the years that followed, he was seen in a number of significant films. Three movies in which he has acted have received Academy Award nominations for Best Foreign Language Film (Salaam Bombay!, Lagaan, Water and Newton). Raghubir Yadav has appeared in a number of notable films, including the 2009 feature film HALA HULI; and the 2014 comedy drama TUM MUJHE BUBA WO.
