Monika, a PhD holder from the National University of Singapore’s School of Medicine (NUS), met Dheeraj — a dual-degree student in Mathematics and Computer Sciences from IIT-Kharagpur — during an accelerator program in Singapore earlier this year.
Realizing their shared interest — India’s healthcare system — the pair decided to start Zealth.ai to tackle the sector’s problems. Zealth.ai graduated from Antler, a Singapore-based early-stage VC and tech startup accelerator, after completing an executive deep technology program.
According to Monika, Zealth.ai was created with the goal of assisting cancer patients in mind. However, owing to the COVID-19 epidemic, the model was adapted to aid in combating the deadly virus.

Zealth.ai, a healthtech firm based in California, uses a B2B subscription business model with hospitals, and charges each patient according to their needs. Zealth.ai is presently engaged in discussions with six more hospitals for COVID-19 Monitoring and is talking with six others.
While the co-founder would not disclose the subscription rates, she explained that they are determined by the patient’s specific needs.
Monika says that investors who specialize in the healthtech industry are showing interest in the company. In fact, after it hits its preliminary objectives, Zealth.ai plans to launch a seed round later this year.
The company’s short-term strategy is to assist COVID-19 isolation patients in the home, as well as hospitals caring for such patients. It is also looking into collaborating with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
