Manoj K Jayan as known as Manoj Kadampoothramadam Jayan is a South Indian actor who was born on March 15, 1966, in an Ezhava family. His father, Sruthiyil K.G. Jayan, is a well-known Carnatic musician, while his mother works as a schoolteacher. He attended Nattika Government College for his secondary education. It’s been said that he was an introvert since he was young. As a youngster, he decided to pursue acting as a profession. His parents encouraged him by sending him to the Southern Film Institute in Trivandrum to learn how to act. Adam Ayub, his instructor at the Institute, later directed his debut on television in ‘Kumilakal,’ a Doordarshan television series that aired in 1988.

In 1993, he won four accolades (Kerala State Film Award, Film Critics Award, Film Chamber Award, and Madras Lion’s Club Award) for his work in Hariharan’s “Sargam.” Manoj also received recognition for Santosh Sivan’s horror-thriller “Anandabhadram,” as well as Santhosh Souparnika’s “Ardhanaari,” in which he portrays a transgender.
