Prem Kumar is a veteran Kannada actor. He debuted in the film Praana in 2004, but his success came with the 2005 hit comedy Nenapirali. Prem has won a Filmfare Best Actor Award for one of his films. He was born on April 18, 1975, to a weaver in Karnataka. He began working as a weaver at the age of 14. He eventually became a manager in Indian Telephone Industries Limited after completing his schooling at Kalyani School. His father and he were both weavers, and he continued his job for 13 years. Prem was an enthusiastic moviegoer who spent half of his earnings on seeing movies in the theaters. He watched three to four films each week, purchasing film-related periodicals and publications as well as cinema tickets.
