At the University of California, Riverside, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in theatre.He comes from a theatrical family and relocated to Los Angeles in 2007 to pursue commercial work. He has appeared in advertisements for Garmin GPS and The Discovery Channel.

Tango initially said he never intended to perform voice work and it all happened by chance. Tang enjoys his job and wishes to contribute to the game industry, comparing video games to novels. Tango runs the YouTube channel Voices of Gaming.

In anime, Tang was the voice of Big G from Doraemon, Satoru Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen, Hendrickson from The Seven Deadly Sins, Guts from Berserk, and Tsumugu Kinagase from Kill La Kill, Archer from Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works and Joe from Megalo Box. In video games, he is known for his performances as Wingul from Tales of Xillia, Fang from Fairy Fencer F, Yasuhiro Hagakure and Gonta Gokuhara from the Danganronpa series, Osamu Dazai from Bungo Stray Dogs, and Ichiban Kasuga in the Yakuza series.

He has also lent his voice to Owain in the Fire Emblem series, as well as the titular character in Detective Pikachu and Tom Cat in the upcoming film Tom & Jerry. IIn 2021, Tang began voice acting as Amidamaru in the anime remake of Shaman King (2021 TV Series).
