Kabir Das or Kabir Sahib – He was a 15th-century Indian mystic poet and saint. He emerged as a great promoter of devotion to God in the Bhakti era of Hindi literature. His writings influenced the Bhakti movement of the Hindi region to a deep level. His writing is also seen in the Adi Granth of the Sikhs. They believed in one supreme god, not following Hinduism and Islam. He condemned the evils, rituals, superstitions spread in the society and also strongly criticized social evils. During his lifetime, both Hindus and Muslims harassed him. The religious sect called Kabir Panth was his teachings. Hazari Prasad Dwivedi called him Mastmaula.
Kabir Das Biography
He was born in the 14th-15th century & his birthplace is Kashi, Uttar Pradesh. Kabir Saheb appeared on a lotus flower in the year 1398, on the full moon of Jyeshtha month at the time of Brahmamuharta. He was not born from his parents, but at every age, he descends on earth after walking from his own abode, Satlok. He met Neeru and Neema in the form of a child in Lila Maya body on top of a lotus flower in the Lahartara pond of Kashi. God Kabir Ji became famous in the general public by the name “Kabir Das” in Kali Yuga and he played the role of a weaver in Banaras (Kashi, Uttar Pradesh). But the irony is that the creator of all creation, God Himself incarnated on earth and addressed Himself with the word Das. The real form of Kabir Saheb was unknown to all except those whom Kabir Saheb himself appeared and made him acquainted with his real situation, including the disciple of Sikhism Nanak Dev Ji, respected Dharmadas Ji, Dadu Saheb G etc. The Vedas also testify to this Leela of Purna Parmeshwar Ji. In this mantra, Supreme God Kabir has been called a “smuggler” i.e. one who works in secret. Nanak Ji has also called him a “thug” when he became aware of the real condition of Supreme God Kabir Saheb.
