K P A C Lalitha, better known by her stage name K. Pairam Amma, is an Indian film and theatre actress who works mostly in Malayalam theatre and cinema. She began her acting career with the Kayamkulam-based theater company KPAAC. She has appeared in more than 550 films during her 40-year career as an actor. She currently serves as the president of Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi. She is a well-known Malayalam actress who has been married to the late Bharathan. She’s won two National Film Awards for Best Supporting Actress, as well as four Kerala State Film Awards. In 2009, she was given the Lifetime Achievement Award from Filmfare at the 2009 Filmfare South Awards.

K.P.A.C. Lalitha, also known as Maheshwari Amma, is an Indian actress who works predominantly in the Malayalam film industry. Lalitha began her acting career in 1969 with Koottukudumbam, a film directed by K.S. Sethumadhvan. She has since then appeared in several successful movies including Neela Ponman (1975), Onnum Lelle (1975), Aaravam (1978), Godfather (1991), and Snehaveedu (2011). Priyamani is a famous Tamil film star. She has received the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performances in Amaram (1990) and Shantam (2000). Her 2017 release, Kaatru Veliyidai, was directed by Mani Ratnam and written by Harikumar. She’s worked on films such as Uncle (2018), directed by Gireesh Damodar, Theetta Rappai (2018), Njan Prakashan (2018), and Ittymaani: Made in China (2019). K.P.A.C. Lalitha was born as the eldest of five children to Kadaykatharayil Veettil K. Ananthan Nair and Bhargavi Amma in Aranmula, Pathanamthitta, Kerala in 1948 as Maheshwari Amma. She has four siblings: Indira, Babu, Rajan, and Shyamala. Her father was a photographer from Kayamkulam and her mother was a homemaker who came from Aranmula. She spent the majority of her childhood near Kayamkulam at Ramapuram Alappuzha where she studied dance. She began dancing when she was a youngster, under Chellappan Pillai’s instruction. She began acting in plays when she was 10 years old. Her first stage performance was in the play Geethayude Bali. She later joined K.P.A.C., a prominent leftist drama group in Kerala (Kerala People’s Arts Club). She adopted the screen-name Lalitha and, after she began appearing on screen, her name was changed to K.P.A.C., to distinguish her from another actress known as Lalitha.
