Varsha Usgaonkar was born on 28 February 1968 in Usgao, Goa. Her father’s name is Achyut Kashinath Sinai Usgaonkar. She has 2 sisters Dr. Tosha Kurde and Mrs. Manisha Tarcar. She did her schooling from Dempo Higher Secondary School, Panji and graduated from Goa University. Varsha’s career began in the mid-nineties, when she first played the character of Rani Lakshmibai on Doordarshan’s Jhansi Ki Rani (1990s). Later, she had roles on Marathi shows Aakash Zep and Eka Mekansathi as well as Hindi television serials.

Career: As the main female protagonist in the 1984 Marathi stage play Brahmachari, Ushagraonkar became well-known. She made her television debut in 1988 as Uttara, Abhimanyu’s wife and mother of Parikshit, in Mahabharata. She also appeared as Roopmati in Chandrakanta.
