Jaishankar was a South Indian actor who worked in the Tamil film industry. He was born on July 12, 1938, in Chennai, where he died on June 3, 2000. He was also known as Makkal Kalingar Jaishankar and Thennagathu James Bond for his performances in detective films such as Vallavan Oruvan in 1966 and CID Shankar in 1970. Because his movies were released frequently sometimes every week he became known as Friday Star.
Subramanium Shankar is the birth name of Jaishankar. His father was a court judge. He went to PS High School in Chennai for his primary education. He received an honors degree from The New College in Chennai and studied there as well. He worked at Cho’s Viveka Fine Arts, where he played minor parts, before joining Koothabiran’s Kalki Fine Arts, where he was cast as a lead actor in Kalki’s Amara Thara.

Jaishankar made his cinematic debut in the Tamil film industry with Iravum Pagalum, directed by Joseph Thaliath Jr. as Rajasekar, the lead role. The crime drama came out on January 14th, 1965.
