Jayaram (born 10 December 1965) is an Indian film actor who hails from Kerala. He was born as Jayaram Subramaniam and is a Tamil-speaking Iyer family from Perumbavoor, Kerala. He finished his studies at Sri Sankara College in Kaladi and was awarded several honors at the state level for mimicry during that era. He began his career as a confectioner and is now an actor, comedian, voice artist, and stage director. Jayaram is married to actress Parvathy and has a son named Kalidasan who won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist in 2003 as a child film artist. Jayaram also has a daughter, Malavika (Siddhant). The family resides in Chennai and Cochin.
Jayaram Biography
After studying electrical engineering from Anna University, he joined Kalabavan, a professional mimicry group in Kochi after graduation, and began his career as a scriptwriter and filmmaker Padmarajan with the film Aparan. Jayaram went on to act in Moonnam Pakkam and Innale thanks to Padmarajan. He is best known for his parts in Kamal’s films, including Pradeshika Vaarthakal, Peruvannapurathe Visheshangal, and Shubha Yathra, with which he co-starred his wife Parvathy. He later appeared in Jagathy Sreekumar’s screenplay Viji Thampi’s directional debut Witness with Ranjith. In Nanma Niranjavan Srinivasan, he worked with Viji Thampi and Ranjith as well as Bharathan. He played Keli and Malootty in Bharathan’s film Keli during the early 90s.
