While studying for his Ph.D. in sociology, he collapsed and died at Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University. After earning a master’s degree in sociology, T.P Madhavan became a teacher. He was married to Sudha. He has one son named Rajakrishna Menon and one daughter called Devika. After a while, he got divorced from his wife. Madhavan also applied to the Indian Army and was accepted, but due to a hand fracture, he had to withdraw his candidacy. He then worked for an English newspaper in Mumbai before starting an advertising firm in Bangalore. He became a journalist shortly after that and subsequently joined the Malayalam film industry.
