Yogi Lonich (born August 25, 1969 in San Jose, California) is an American vocalist, songwriter and musician. He was a member of Buckcherry and Fuel before going solo. His mother was Peruvian and his father Croatian, and he emigrated from Croatia as a teenager. His older sister Plavka is also a musician.

Yogi Lonich Biography

He began playing guitar when he was 12 years old, and credits his eldest sister Plavka for providing him with the “biggest musical influences.” Lonich enrolled in California State University, Northridge, where he obtained a Bachelor of Music degree in Classical and Jazz guitar performance in 1993.

After the birth of their daughter Anika, Yogi and his wife Lana decided to relocate from California to Zagreb, Croatia. Yogi was a guest vocalist on six Buckcherry studio albums, the Gold-certified “15” and Grammy-nominated “All Night Long,” among them.

He has provided vocals for three studio albums and one live album as Fuel. Lonich’s debut solo album, “Yogi,” was released through Roxx Records/Warner Music Group in 2008. Josh Todd of Buckcherry, Fuel’s Kevin Miller, former Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti, and others make guest appearances on the album. In 2010, Lonich released his second solo album “2.”

The record features cameos by musicians such as Hardline frontman Johnny Gioeli, former Dokken bassist Jeff Pilson, and others. Lonich’s third solo album, “3,” was released in 2012. The collection features cameos by musicians such as Kevin DuBrow of Quiet Riot, Jerry Dixon of Warrant, former Hurricane guitarist Robert Sarzo, and more.

The debut single “Long Way To Go (featuring Kevin DuBrow)” was a 7-inch vinyl record with the B-side song “Top Of The World” by Roxx Records/Warner Music, which was released in November 1990.
