Tisca Chopra is an Indian actress, novelist, and film producer. She has acted in over 45 feature films in various languages throughout her career. Her most famous feature film, Taare Zameen Par (2002), was India’s official submission to the Academy Awards. She won several Filmfare and other top honors for her performance in this film. Qissa, a second feature film, premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in 2013 and was selected for the NETPAC Award for Best Asian Film.

Tisca did her bachelor’s degree in English literature at the University of Delhi and has worked in the theatre industry for several years. Naseeruddin Shah and theatre director Feroz Khan have helped her improve her craft. In India, South East Asia, and the Middle East, she was a success as an actress in the Pulitzer Prize-winning play about contemporary family life, Dinner With Friends. The movie has been shown in over 24 festivals, where it has won nearly every top prize and much adulation from the audience and critics.
