Rick Chambers is an American journalist who is currently a co-anchor of the KTLA Weekend News and Sunday Edition in Los Angeles, California since May 2011. Rick provides the voice of the radio announcer on Neil Goldman’s boombox in “Once Bitten”. He is also a front-line, Emmy Award-winning reporter covering southern California’s biggest stories for more than 20 years. Rick’s first assignment in Los Angeles was the riots of 1992. Rick joined KTLA as a general assignment reporter in early 2003. He is also the only reporter to ever win first place journalism awards from all three broadcast news organizations: The Associated Press, RTNDA and The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). Rick has won dozens of awards in his career and has been nominated for three Emmys.
Rick Chambers Biography
Rick is originally from San Diego, California and graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in communications. After college, he started his career as a news writer at KFMB-TV in San Diego. In 1993, Rick moved to Los Angeles to work as a general assignment reporter at KCAL-TV. He later became the station’s weekend sports anchor and covered the Raiders’ move. Rick also filed reports for the Chargers, Angels and Clippers. Rick later returned to sports as a weekend sports anchor at KTLA-TV where he anchored sportscasts on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. He was part of the team that won three Golden Mike Awards (the California equivalent of an Emmy Award) for sports reporting.
