Prabhu Ganesan (born December 25, 1956) is an Indian film actor, businessman, and film producer who primarily works in Tamil cinema. He is the son of former screen star Sivaji Ganesan, as well as his grandson Vikram Prabhu, another Tamil actor. Biography After Prabhu began his career as a child actor in 1982, making his debut in Sangili (1982), followed by various prominent and minor roles. For his performance in Chinna Thambi (1992), he was named Best Actor by the Tamil Nadu state for the first time.

Prabhu’s father, actor Sivaji Ganesan, had initially opposed his son pursuing an acting career, but after seeing him in films, filmmakers began to offer him roles. He subsequently made his acting debut in C. V. Rajendran’s Sangili (1982), a remake of the Hindi film Kalicharan, where he was cast in a supporting role.
By the time Sangili was ready, Prabhu had already completed six movies, including Charuhasan’s Pudhiya Sangamam and Gangai Amaren’s romantic movie Kozhi Koovuthu, which became his first commercially successful project. Prabhu’s career graph took a nosedive after appearing in about thirty films, including nineteen with his father, Neethibathi (1983), Sandhippu (1983) and Miruthanga Chakravarthi (1983).
He decided against appearing in movies with his father and started to pick themes deliberately, rather than take as many jobs as possible. Prabhu is married to Punita in 1982 and has two children, Aishwarya Prabhu (born 1984) and Vikram Prabhu (born 1986), who made his acting debut in 2012 in Kumki.
Prabhu married Punitha in March 1990 and had a live-in relationship with actress Kushboo for four-and-a-half years before getting married on September 12, 1993. Four months later, the pair decided to divorce.
