Renu Soundar is an Indian actress working in the Tamil and Malayalam television industries. She was born in Vizhavoor, Kerala, and is the only daughter of Ramani Bhai and Soundar Raj. She completed her MFA at Sree Sankaracharya Sanskrit University at Kalady with a focus on painting. Throughout her education, she has been interested in participating in many competitions. She also completed one year of animation training. During college, she took part in several stage plays. A friend of hers submitted a photograph to Metro Queen Contest by Malayala Manorama, where it was published on its website.

Renu wanted to be a star. In the entertainment industry, she was drawn to her path. Renu made her debut in acting with the Malayalam film “Karuthamuthu” directed by Praveen Kadakkavoor and produced by Bros Creations. She broke into the business in 2016, when she starred alongside National Award-winning actor Charuhasan in Anuj Ramachandran’s art feature Kazhinja Kaalam. Renu debuted on the big screen that same year with Manhole written by Vidhu Vincent as Shalini, the main protagonist. Later that year, she had roles in a variety of short motion pictures including Kerchief, Isabella, U-turn, and more.

Renu made her debut as an actress in the 2016 film Manhole, which was directed by Vidhu Vincent. In 2017, Manhole was shown at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. In 2018, Renu starred in Chalakkudikkaran Changathi, a Tamil movie alongside Senthil Krishna, Honey Rose, Joju George, and others. The film was loosely based on the life of late actor Kalabhavan Mani. Renu had two releases in 2019: Ottam and Pengalila.
