Ratheesh is a well-known actor in the Malayalam film industry. He rose to prominence in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He has played in over 150 films, all of which were produced in Malayalam. He acted in three Tamil movies before going on to produce films for television. Through the program ‘Venalmazha’ aired on Asianet, he also entered the television business.

Rathaesh was born in Kalavoor, Thiru Kochi, Kerala, in the year 1954. He married Diana, the daughter of former Prime Minister Hemachandran, who has four children. Rathaesh graduated from S.N College in Cherthala after studying there for five years.

Rathaesh began his acting career in 1977 with the film Vezhambal. Beginning in 1979, he appeared in a number of films, including Ullakdal, which was his coming-out film and was directed by K.G George. This sequence ran until 2002. Ratheesh’s talent for performing was greatly appreciated by both fans and critics, and he was a sought-after actor in those years. Ratheesh was at his peak in the years 1981 to 1988, when he gave several blockbusters, including Oru Mukham Pala Melksham,’ ‘Rajavinte Makan,’ Ee Nadu, and others. After Prabhatham Chuvanna Theruvil, he gradually decreased the number of movies he appeared in. He took a four-year hiatus from 1990 until 1994 when he returned with ‘Commissioner,’ directed by Shaji Kailas. He hasn’t done much since then, instead of focusing on production. He has produced four movies in Malayalam.

Ratheesh made his debut with ‘Manal Nagaram,’ which was his first serial. He had previously acted in the television series ‘Venal Mazha.’ His last film was K.K Rajeev’s ‘Shivam,’ which he starred in and directed. He died in 2004, aged 48, in Thiruvananthapuram. Parvaty debuted as an actress with the film Madhura Naranga that year, playing the character of a young mother who loses her child.
