Tehlan went to school at Montfort Senior Secondary School in Delhi. She received a bachelor’s degree in B.Com (Hons) from Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi. She completed her PG Diploma in Marketing Management from the Institute of Management Technology in Ghaziabad.She studied at the Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Management Studies, GGSIP University, Delhi, where she earned a Master’s in Business Administration (HR and Marketing).

She began her sports career playing basketball at the national level while still in school. She was chosen to attend the Indian Camp three times, in 2004, Cuttack, Odisha.

She has experience in Development Bank of Singapore, Deloitte, Accenture, and 1800Sports. Under the National Skill Development Council, Delhi, she is assisting with a project named UDAAN – Skills to Succeed for Mobilization, Training and Employment of youth from Jammu and Kashmir.

She has been dubbed the “Queen of The Court” by The Times of India and “Lass of The Rings” by The Indian Express. She is Netball Development Trust India’s brand ambassador for 2011-2017.

She made her debut on-screen in the Star Plus series Diya Aur Baati Hum, which aired in January 2016. In 2017, she played the leading role of Arjan in the Punjabi film Arjan opposite Roshan Prince and Manduip Singh.

In 2017, she played a significant part in the Punjabi film Bailaras. She was last seen in the Malayalam blockbuster Mamangam (2019), which was a box-office failure. Tehlan was considered for one of the female leads in Ram, opposite Mohanlal.
