Bobby Simha – Jayasimha, better known as Bobby Simha, is an Indian film actor who mainly performs in Tamil films. He made brief appearances in the movies Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi and Pizza (2012), before playing a kidnapper in Nalan Kumarasamy’s Soodhu Kavvum.

He was born on November 6, 1983, in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, India, and his family is from Hyderabad but moved to Kodaikanal in 1995. He studied in a Telugu-medium primary school in Mopidevi, Andhra Pradesh, and then completed his higher education at Pioneer College of Arts and Science in Coimbatore.

On 8 November 2015, Bobby Simha got engaged to actress Reshmi Menon, and they married on 22 April 2016. On 2 May 2017, their daughter Mudhra Simha was born. Reshmi gave birth to her second kid in November 2019, a baby boy.

In 2005, he took part in a Coimbatore-based competition called Naalaya Natchathiram, were chief guests Sundar C and E. Ramdoss urged him to try his hand at acting in Tamil movies. He revealed that he’d been offered a role in a Tamil TV series and only after making the trip from Coimbatore did he discover he’d been misled. He went on to complete his degree and return to Chennai to pursue a career in acting, but ended up working in marketing, insurance, and business process outsourcing to cover his financial needs.

He made his debut in Soodhu Kavvum, playing the title character’s younger persona. He subsequently took on the role of an intransigent antagonist in Neram, for which he received favorable reviews. In 2014, he played a senior Madurai criminal in Jigarthanda, for which he was highly commended.

After Jigarthanda, he appeared in the Malayalam film Beware of Dogs as a lead actor, where he played Muthali, a “serious, intelligent cop with a comic touch.” Bobby Simha was able to establish himself as a leading actor after the success of Jigarthanda. In December 2015, he made his debut as a solo action hero in Urumeen, his first film.

He began his career as an antagonist in May 2016, after signing with Hari for the sequel to Saamy, entitled Saamy Square.

After Vimal was replaced for professional reasons, he took on the title role in Vijay Sethupathi’s “Kalakalappu 2,” produced with Dhanush. Dhanush wrote Kalakalappu, which also featured Vijay Sethupathy in the lead part.
