Anjali Devi was an Indian actress, model, and producer who worked in both Telugu and Tamil films. She was recognized for her work as Sita Devi in Lava Kusa and as the titular character in movies like Suvarna Sundari and Anarkali.
Anjali Devi Biography
Anjamma was born in Peddapuram, East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, India as Anjani Kumari. When performing in plays, she took the name Anjani Kumari. Later, C. Pullaiah gave her the name Anjali Devi.
She was a theater actress before getting into films, and her debut film part was Lohitasva in 1936’s “Raja Harishchandra.” Her first leading lady role was Kashtajeevi by L. V. Prasad in 1940, but filming had to be abandoned after three reels. She auditioned for and was given the opportunity to star as Mohini in Gollabhama (1947).

Saila Rao is their granddaughter and an actress.Devi passed away at the age of 86 on January 13, 2014, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Her organs were given to Ramachandra Medical College.
