Career
Year Shows / Movies / Awards Character / Role
She auditioned for the TV series Little Lord Fauntleroy out of a desire to expand her career after performing on stage as an actress with the Bungeiza Theater Company and the Sōhen Theater Company.
In 1988, she made her voice acting debut as the main character, Cedie, in a TV anime. According to Orikasa, Minami Takayama and Megumi Hayashibara were two of the other finalists for the part of Cedie in the audition process, and she was chosen for the role because of her innocence rather than acting ability.
Her stage name, “Ai Orikasa,” indicates her desire to be liked by everyone. The producers came up with the concept when they were in the restroom thinking about her stage name.
She started out in the anime industry with Nippon Animation. She was one of several voice actors, such as Kazue Ikura, Ginga Banjō, Ken’ichi Ogata, and so on; she worked beside “three main voice actors,” Mitsuko Horie, Eiko Yamada, and Keiko Han.
As far as anime characters are concerned, she regards Ryōko from the Tenchi Muyo! series as her most memorable. She has dubbed for foreign dramas, films, and cartoons, among other things, and has been active as a singer.
It was announced in September of that year that she had left Production Baobab, where she had worked for many years since her debut, and joined Axlone.
