Adoor Bhavani, also known as Adoor Bhalvanie, was an Indian actress who performed in Malayalam films. She was born in Adoor on December 28, 1927. Her father was Kerala Govindan Pillai and her mother was Kunjukunjamma. She is best remembered for her part as Chakki in Chemmeen (1965), which won a National Award despite being banned by the state government at that time due to allegations of communism and against its people’s social order. Bhavani acted in more than 450 films during her long career. Her debut was Sheriyo Thetto. Kallichellamma, Pearl View, Vilakkyu Vaangiya Veena, Puthiya Akasam Puthiya Bhoomi, and Maniyan Pilla Adhava Maniyan Pilla are among her movies.

Adoor Pankajam was the younger sister of Adoor Bhavani. She was also a part of the Malayalam film industry, and her last film was Sethurama Iyer directed by K. Madhu in 2004. Apart from acting in movies, Adoor Bhavani has performed on stage as well. She joined the KPAC theatre group, which is popular among locals. She won the Kerala state film award for best actress for Kallichellamma (1969), and in 2002, she was given the Chalachithra Saparya Lifetime Achievement Award. For their incredible efforts, both sisters were recognized by the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy.
