Bokkala Kishore Kumar, known professionally as Vennela Kishore, is an Indian actor and director who works in Telugu-language films. He earned the sobriquet “Vennela” after his debut feature film Vennela (2005) because of his comic characterizations. He has won two Nandi Awards and one IIFA Utsavam Award.
Vennela Kishore Biography
He was born on September 19, 1980, and grew up in present-day Telangana’s Kamareddy. He went to college in Hyderabad before moving to the United States for further education. Kishore completed his master’s degree at Ferris State University in Michigan and began working as a software developer. In January 2012, he married his longtime girlfriend Rajitha. They have a daughter named Keerthi.

Deva Katta’s Vennela (2005) gave him his first chance to work in the film industry. He worked as an assistant director under Deva Katta on this Tamil film.
Kishore’s first project as a solo star was Pilla Zamindar, directed by Ajay Bhupathi. Trivikram Srinivas’ next film, Daruvu, was his second. The film became a hit, and Kishore received a slew of attractive proposals. His 2009 film, ‘Seema Tapakai,’ in which he played the male lead opposite Shriya Saran, was a blockbuster.
He appeared in the 2012 film ‘Badshah’ with Allari Naresh. He acted in Doosukeltha,’ which was released in the same year, with Ram Charan and Sonal Chauhan. His 2013 movie ‘Pandaga Chesko,’ which was a Hit, provided him with much-needed rest as a solo actor. For his portrayal in the film, he earned positive reviews from both critics and audiences.
Kishore acted in 2014’s Aagadu, directed by Srinu Vaitla, in which he played the character of Peddai. His work was again praised. Deva Katta, who discovered him and introduced him to the Telugu film industry, is directing his debut feature Bale Bale Magadivoy opposite Swathi
Kishore was praised for his portrayal of “Sastri” in Dookudu. His other roles include Bindaas, Pilla Zamindar, Daruvu, Seema Tapakai, Badshah , Doosukeltha, Pandaga Chesko, Aagadu, S/O Satyamurthy. He has also directed two Telugu features (Vennela 1½, and Jaffa). He’s made a comeback to acting after failing with his directorial projects.
