Vincent was an Indian actor from Kerala. He acted in about 160 Malayalam movies throughout the 1970s and ’80s, several of them as a starring character. He was a romantic and action hero in his era, born in Edavanakad Vypin. Vincent was married to Mary, a schoolteacher in Chennai’s Chennai Public School. On August 31, 1991, at the age of 45, he died of a heart attack. Vincent’s wife Mary passed away on October 15, 2016, in an automobile accident near Thirumangalam, Tamil Nadu. They were survived by two sons: Roby Vincent, an assistant film director who works for Director Bala and is now working in Tamil and Malayalam films. The second son Richard Lazaar Vincent lives in Dubai.
Vincent Biography
Vincent began his career in the late 1960s and quickly rose to become one of the most famous Malayalam film actors of the 1970s. He worked with such notable leading men as Sathyan, Prem Nazir, Madhu, Jayan, M. G. Soman, and Kamal Haasan. He had acted opposite several prominent heroines from Malayalam cinema including Sridevi, Sheela, Jayabharathi, Vijayasree, Vidhubala (known then as Vijaysri), Rani Chandra (then known as Rannvijaya), Lakshmi (then known as Viji), and Srividya (then known asuthi). He was well-known for his work in 1970s Tamil films such as Ulsavam (1975) and Anubhavam (1976), both of which were directed by I. V. Sasi. Inspector Balram, one of his final notable movies, was released in 1991.
