Sylvester Enzio Stallone is an American actor, screenwriter, director, and producer. He began his acting career as a struggling actor for several years after moving to New York City in 1969 and Hollywood in 1974, receiving critical acclaim as an actor for his co-starring role as Stanley Rosiello in The Lords of Flatbush. He is the only actor in the history of American cinema to have starred in a box office number one film for six decades running.

In 1968, Stallone played a part in the drama That Nice Boy (also known as The Square Root) while studying at the University of Miami. He made his film debut in the softcore porno movie The Party at Kitty and Stud’s (1970).
Sylvester Stallone rose to fame in the 1976 sports drama Rocky, about a poor fighter, Rocky Balboa, challenging heavyweight champion Apollo Creed.
In 1978, Stallone made his directing debut and appeared in Paradise Alley, a family drama in which he played one of three brothers who become professional wrestlers. In 1973, he appeared in Norman Jewison’s F.I.S.T., a social drama about a warehouse employee who becomes involved in labor union leadership, where he plays James Hoffa, an inspiration for Hoffa’s character on The Team (which aired from 1975 to 1978).
In 2000, Stallone starred in Get Carter, a retelling of the 1971 British movie of the same name. According to critics and audiences, however, it was poorly received. Following the critical and commercial failures of his subsequent films Driven (2001), Avenging Angelo (2002) and D-Tox, Diesel’s career took a major downturn.
