He was born in a Jat family in the city of Bangalore. He spent his childhood in Bahrain. His father was a big movie buff and raised him with a taste for cinema. He learned to speak English from watching movies, cartoons and television shows that were dubbed into Arabic by Bahrainis. In Bahrain, he attended the Indian School there. He returned to India to pursue his graduation in Bachelor of Science from Bangalore’s Christ University. During that time, he was also a part of college theater productions. After completing his education, he started working odd jobs- one as a bouncer in a pub and the other as an advertising model. This was when he got his first opportunity to act in a short film.
