Jim Rash (James Rash) born July 15, 1971, is a television and film actor, comedian, and filmmaker. He has received critical acclaim for his work as Dean Craig Pelton on the NBC comedy Community (2009–2015), which earned him a Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series nomination in 2012.

In the same year, he won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and was nominated for a Golden Globe as one of the writers of The Descendants.

Rash was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. He and his sister were given up for adoption. He went to Charlotte Latin School after graduation. After a year of study at Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, he enrolled at The Groundlings’ educational institution in Los Angeles.

The rash was and raised in a suburb of San Diego. He’s appeared on Reno 911! and That ’70s Show. In 1999, he played T.A. Philip in Slackers and Mr. Grayson/Stitches in Sky High (2005).
