Mr. Jayant Kripalani is a well-known Indian stage, film, and television actor. He has also worked as a writer, filmmaker, and teacher. He earned his bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Jadavpur University. His father runs a laundry company in Calcutta. His theater career began when he was cast as Hamlet in a play with his good friend, who was supposed to act the part, and the director asked him to read the script. Despite his reservations, he read the lines and went to a pub for a drink. The director approached him and informed him that he was the best fit for the part. That’s when he received his first acting job.

Hamlet marked a watershed in his career, after which he wrote The Merchant of Venice, Sleuth, The Dumb Waiter, and many other plays. Jayant’s family initially did not support his desire to work on stage.
Jayant has worked in many Bollywood movies, including Sugar Factory (2021), One By Two (2014), Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (2008), Ru-Ba-Ru (2008), Summer 2007 (2008), Alag (2006), Chupke Se (2003), and Pehla Nasha (1993). Jayant was cast in feature films including Sugar Factory in 2021.
In 2009, he played the lead role in Hawaizaada, a film directed by Rajkumar Hirani. He penned the first television series Ghar Jamai, which aired on Doordarshan station. He has also written and produced a miniseries titled PC Aur Mausi.
The actor, along with some friends, is now running a firm called Exper that aims to provide leadership and management models for many businesses.
