Jamshed Cethirakath (Arya), a Malayali actor who has chosen Tamil filmdom, is the latest to join the ranks of those born in Kerala who have done so. He even altered his name to ‘Arya’ in accordance with local custom and encouraged his brother Sathya to do the same. However, if he did not have a very clear picture of his career path in later life, he may have chosen an engineering program in Computer Science at the University of Chennai rather than any of the other possibilities in Chennai with regards to performing arts. His family’s connections to Chennai grew closer as he got older, and his father now runs one of the city’s most famous Arabian restaurants in the exclusive Anna Nagar area.

However, after that, he made his professional debut in the 2005 college romance “Ullam Ketkumae” opposite two other current superstars Asin and Pooja. However, a second film featuring Arya was released later in the same year, and fortunately for him, this picture became a huge success. He won the twin Filmfare Awards for Best Debut South and Best New Male Face for this performance in Arinthum Ariyamalum.

Career
Year Shows / Movies / Awards Character / Role
In the 2009 film “Naan Kadavul,” he played an Aghori (a person from an ascetic sect) in a leading role, which won him further acclaim and appreciation. For the period drama “Madrasapattinam” (2010), he had commercial success with the romantic comedy film “Boss Engira Bhaskaran” (2010). He also established his capacity as an actor that year by appearing in Tamil films as the antagonist in “Varudu.” Arya has done exceptionally well in the current crop of younger South Indian heroes, establishing himself firmly at the top rungs and carving a niche for himself through sheer hard work and devotion, even enrolling in an Aghori Yoga crash class for the film “Naan Kadavul.”
