Chittaranjan Tripathy (born 1971) is an Odia film director, music composer, and actor. He has also acted in and directed several Bollywood films. He began his profession as a second assistant director on the 1988 Oriya film Prem Shastra. His debut as a filmmaker was Premika, an Oriya film released in 1992 with Uttam Mohanty and Archita Sahu in the lead roles. The picture was successful, launching both performers into stardom.

Tripathy was born in Odisha’s Chandabali. He obtained his MA in Sociology from the University of Hyderabad and a Diploma in Acting at the National School of Drama in Delhi before enrolling at Guildford School of Acting to study directing.
Tripathy debuted in the Odia film industry in 2007 with Dhauli Express, for which he served as producer, director, scriptwriter, music director, lyricist, and playback singer. The movie received three Odisha State Film Awards. In 2009, he released another feature film named Mukhyamantri.

He has also written numerous other songs, but they haven’t seen much public exposure. He wrote the lyrics and composed the music for Taj Mahal Ka Tender (for which he directed as well). He has appeared in television soaps Dhund Legi Manjil Hume, Ye isk he, Jaani Pehchanis Ajnabi, and Mano ya Na Mano. He has starred in Hindi feature films Delhi 6, Fantom, Sandar, Talvar, and Tera Mera tedha medha.
Tripathy has written over 500 songs for theatre. His most recent role was as Trivedi in the popular Netflix web series Sacred Games. He also appeared as the dissatisfied character in the latest ALT Balaji and ZEE5 web series M.O.M Mission Over Mars (2019).
For the film “Dhauli Express,” he received the Odisha MahaNarayana Mohana Sundara Dev Goswami Award for Best Music Director. Odisha State Film Award for Best Music Director for the film “Dhauli Express.”
“Dhauli Express” won the Odisha State Film Award for Best Singer and “Love you Jessica” received the award for Best Comedian in 2015.
