Bhagat Singh –He was a great freedom fighter and revolutionary of India. Together with Chandrashekhar Azad and other members of the party, he fought the powerful British government with unprecedented courage for the independence of India, First, the assassination of Bernie Sanders in Lahore and then the bombing of the Central Parliament of Delhi (Central Assembly) gave rise to an open rebellion against the British Empire. He refused to run away even after throwing a bomb in the assembly. He was born on 28 September 1907 in a Sikh family. His father’s name was Sardar Kishan Singh and his mother’s name was Vidyavati Kaur. He belonged to a farmer family. The Jallianwala Bagh massacre on April 13, 1919, in Amritsar, had a deep impact on his thinking. Leaving the National College of Lahore, he founded the Naujawan Bharat Sabha for the independence of India. He was very disappointed when Gandhiji did not support the farmers after the Chauri-Chaura massacre in the year 1922. After that, his faith in non-violence was weakened and he came to the conclusion that armed revolution was the only way to get freedom. After that, he became a part of the Ghadar Dal formed under the leadership of Chandrashekhar Azad. He was so agitated by the execution of 04 revolutionaries including Ram Prasad ‘Bismil’ and the imprisonment of 16 others in the Kakori incident that his party with Chandrashekhar Azad joined the Hindustan Republican Association and gave it a new name Hindustan Socialist Republican Association. . He along with Rajguru, killed J.P. Saunders, a British officer who was an assistant superintendent of police in Lahore on December 17, 1928. Revolutionary Chandrashekhar Azad had given him full help in this action. He along with revolutionary partner Batukeshwar Dutt, threw bombs and pamphlets to wake up the British government on 8 April 1929 in the Parliament House, the auditorium of the then Central Assembly of British India, in present-day New Delhi. After throwing the bomb, both of them also gave their arrest there.

On August 26, 1930, the court convicted him under sections 129, 302 of the Indian Penal Code and sections 4 and 6F of the Explosive Substances Act and 120 of the IPC. On October 7, 1930, a 68-page judgment was given by the court, in which Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru were sentenced to death. With the execution of the sentence, Section 144 was imposed in Lahore. After this, an appeal was filed in the Privy Council for the pardon of him, but this appeal was cancelled on January 10, 1931. All this was happening against his wishes because he did not want his sentence to be pardoned.
