Janani Ashok Kumar is a South Indian actress who has appeared in Tamil television programs. Kavya Madhavan made her acting debut in the Tamil film Nanbenda, which was directed by Jagadish. Janani is currently onscreen as a negative character in the Sembaruthi series on Zee Tamil. She was born on 28 November 1992 in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

She studied at PSGR Krishnammal Higher Secondary School in Coimbatore, where she completed her college education. She made her acting debut with Tamil film Nannbenda in 2015, directed by Jagadish. She also made a cameo appearance in the Tamil film Yemaali in 2018, alongside Samuthirakani, Athulya Ravi, and directed by VZ Durai.
She made her television debut with Tamil program Mappillai on Vijay TV. She also appeared in well-known Tamil Serials Mouna Ragam, along with Rajeev Parameshwar on Vijay TV, and Sembaruthi, again with Shabana Shajahan on Zee Tamil.
