S N Surendar, a popular Tamil film actor, voice artist, and dubbing artist, was born and raised in Chennai. His family is a music dynasty, to which he belongs. Shoba’s younger sister Shoba is also a big music fan and has performed several songs in films as well as giving live Carnatic concerts. Shoba is Vijay’s mother, the wife of popular Tamil director S. A. Chandrasekar and the wife of popular Tamil hero Vijay. In addition to that, she has over 500 songs on which she has recorded.

S N Surendar has done voice work for 600 or more movies. He specializes in voice-over acting, and he has given his voice to a number of Tamil and Kannada actors. In almost all of Mohan’s films, except for one or two, Surendar’s voice has been used. His voice is distinctive and liked by the audience. His voice was mistaken for that of acting Mohan by most Tamil viewers. He has dubbed actor Kannan in the film Kadhal Oviyam, as well as Nedumudi Venu in Anniyan.
