Raima made her feature film debut in 1999 when she appeared in Godmother opposite Shabana Azmi. Raima’s talents, on the other hand, were somewhat diminished by the presence of legendary actress Shabana Azmi in the film. Later, she collaborated with Raveena Tondon in Daman and her work was well received. Her big chance came with her participation in the Bengali film Chokher Bali in 2003, which starred Aishwarya Rai as her co-star. With the record-breaking picture of Parineeta in 2005, she became famous among both audiences and critics. She began her career in Bollywood with a minor role in the romantic drama Dus, followed by leading roles in Kuch Dil Ne Kaha, 99.9 FM, Yatra, Vodka Diaries, and others. Her popularity and demand in the Bengali film industry rose after that, and she was seen in movies like The Bong Connection, The Japanese Wife, Sitara, Anuranan, Shakti, Khela, Notobor Not out, etc.
