Pala Karuppiah – Pala. Karuppiah is an Indian politician who served as a member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from the Harbour constituency in Chennai District. He has also appeared in films including Angadi Theru, directed by Vasanthabalan. He is the author of ‘Pattinathar Oru Parvai’, ‘Arasiyal Sadhirattangal’, Kaalam Kizhitha Kodugal’, ‘Kannadhasan’, Kaalathin Velipaadu’, ‘Ellaigal Neetha Rama Kaadhai and ‘Karunanidhi Enna Kadavulaa’.
Pala was kicked out of the AIADMK on January 28, 2016, following charges that he had committed acts against the party’s principles and brought disgrace to it. On January 29, he announced his decision to retire from the assembly. His house was attacked by unknown attackers soon after. He subsequently appeared before the media and accused the ADMK government of corruption.

During the Karaikudi Water agitation, Pala. Karuppiah fasted for 19 days. He has been imprisoned a total of ten times for various protests. He organized Agitations, conferences and filed a case in the High Court to give Archanai in Tamil Nadu’s temple. He was a member of the 14th Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and represented Harbour in Tamil Nadu. Pala Karuppiah has directed over six movies under his company. His first film, released in 1983 and titled “Indru Nee Naalai Naan,” featured Sivakumar and Lakshmi in the lead roles. The film’s plot centered on a villager who found a gorgeous bride for his brother, only to have to deal with the consequences after his brother’s death. The movie was a box-office success. He was a producer who oversaw all elements of each movie.
He took charge of his film’s production “Vaa Vaa Vasanthamey.” The film was a hit at the box office, and he was praised for his efforts. Karuppiah’s acting filmography began in 2010 with a role as Annachi in the film “Angadi Theru.” Vasanthabalan was the director, with Mahesh and Anjali starring. The endeavor debuted to favorable reviews at the box office. Karuppiah played the part of Tamil Nadu’s top leader, Chief Minister Karunanidhi, in a 2018 action/drama film called Sarkar.
