Parambrata Chatterjee, born June 27, 1980, is an Indian actor, director, producer, and television personality. He has a large clientele in West Bengal, India. Parambrato began his career in television and Bengali cinema before moving to Bollywood. He made his Hindi debut in Kahaani (2012) alongside Vidya Balan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. He also appeared in Vidya Balan’s first feature, Bhalo Theko (2003). He has worked on numerous international music studio albums. He’s also recorded songs for Bengali films Chaya Manush and Samantaral, which are both directed by Raqia Sharmin.

Parambrata was born in Kolkata, West Bengal, to film critical parents. Satinath Chatterjee and Sunetra Ghatak are his parents, with Ashish Chandra Ghatak as a great-grandparent and Mahasweta Devi, Parambrata’s aunt, being one of his grandparents. He went to school at Dolna Day School, Assembly of God School, and Patha Bhavan in Kolkata for his primary education and Jadavpur University for an undergraduate degree in English Literature. He received a Master’s degree in Film and Television Production from Bristol University in the United Kingdom.
Parambrata became a producer with his acting colleague Rudranil Ghosh on May 30, 2011, when they launched Workshop Productions Pvt. Ltd., a partnership with Dipak Raha of the Sambandh Group.
