Jayakrishnan Biography

Jayakrishnan was born on April 11, 1974, in a Hindu Nair family in Kuzhimattom, Kottayam, to P.N Narayanan Kutty and Sreedevi. He is the youngest of three brothers. His father was a schoolteacher and pranic healer. He has a sister named Jyothi, and K.S. Radhakrishnan, the sculptor, is his cousin’s brother who began painting after seeing Jayakrishnan’s father’s work.

Jayakrishnan tied the knot with Priya in 2000, who has a master’s degree in library science and is a trained dancer. For one year, the couple lived separately until they filed for divorce mutually. Devanarayan is their only child, who was born in 2001. The pair divorced in 2011 after living apart for a year.

Jayakrishnan began his formal education at NSS High School, Kuzhimattom, where his father was an art instructor. He completed his studies at NSS Hindu College, Changanassery. From his hometown’s theater performance arts club, he developed a passion for acting; and subsequently, when he was in his twenties, he began narrating documentaries and made his television debut in Sunn Joseph’s film Navavukal Novukal.

He made his debut in 1997, when cinematographer and director Sunny Joseph put him in the serial Navinavukal Novukal. Throughout his career, he’s played a variety of roles.

Jayakrishnan has worked in other Indian industries, such as Telugu and Tamil. He hosted the Top 5 Movies show for Surya Tv for a brief time. Some of his notable serials are Thaali, Mazhayariyaathe, Kavyanjaly, Kasthuri (Tamil), and Abirami (Tamil).

In the mid-nineties, Jayakrishnan achieved success as a character in the soap opera Sooryakanthi (1998). He has acted with production houses such as Balaji Telefilms, Seven Arts, and Manorama Vision. After getting minor parts in serials, Jayakrishnan semi-retired from acting and devoted his time to business interests and volunteer work. He has appeared in films including Irupathiyonnaam Noottaandu, Mask, Pulimurugan, Abrahaminte Santhathikal, Kanal, Red Wine, Simhasanam, How Old Are You?, Karmayodha, Parunthu, Naatturajavu, and Roudram.
