Career
While in college, Edi focused on playing basketball at The University of California, Santa Barbara. A knee injury derailed his basketball career. Due to the injury, he spent months unable to walk, and he wanted to make sure that his schedule was an easy one that semester, so he was not even more inconvenienced. He figured acting would make an easy A for him. He went on to hone his acting skills at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
He began his career in stage shows and worked in plays like As You Like It,’ Othello’, Twelfth Night, Cyrano de Bergerac, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Two Trains Running (in San Diego at the Old Globe Theatre), and some others. The following year of his graduation, he made his debut in the film industry with ‘Crank’ movie by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. He was seen in the character of a Haitian Cabbie in the action thriller of 2006. He auditioned for the role of character Kaylo but was cast as Cabbie. Edi was uncertain about performing in a Haitian accent in the movie, but one of his friends (of Haitian enunciation) prepared him for the role.
