Thankappan Saju, better known by his professional name Saju Navodaya, is an Indian actor and comedian who works in Malayalam cinema, television, and theater. He began his career as a stand-up comedian and subsequently branched out into television and film. He appeared in the second season of the Malayalam reality TV show Bigg Boss in January 2020.

Saju Navodaya was born on October 14, 1973, in Kerala, India, to Pappanikunnel Thankappan and Manka. She is the sixth of nine children. He got his education at SNDP HSS in Udayamperoor. He was a frequent competitor in nearly all the school youth festivals.

Saju has directed a number of plays that have won accolades at Ernakulam district-level youth festivals throughout the 1990s. He began his dance career at Sree Rama Varma Government Sanskrit College in Thrippunithura, where he studied before opening a school to teach traditional and film dancing. He is a devoted sports fan and plays Cricket and Association football. He has organized and managed sports teams, clubs, and tournaments, such as cricket and football matches. Resmi, a trained classical dancer, is Saju Navodaya’s spouse.
Saju began his performing career as an amateur mimicry artist, appearing in stage shows for various local clubs and festivals in his hometown. In Kochi, where he worked as a professional mimicry artist for a living, Manoj Guinness provided him an opportunity in his professional mimicry troupe named Cochin Navodaya. The name of Saju was changed to Saju Navodaya after he joined the company. He was a skilled mimic who entertained crowds by impersonating actors on stage.
Saju is the Captain of the Mimicry Artists Association Fighter (MAA Fighters) in 2020, a team in the Celebrity Cricket Fraternity (CCF), a Cricket league that includes film actors, directors, producers, assistant directors, musicians, producers, choreographers, television actors, mimicry artistes, and media professionals.In January 2020, he auditioned for the second season of a 15-week reality television show called Bigg Boss (Malayalam season 2), which aired on Asianet and was hosted by actor Mohanlal. He has been elected as the Bigg Boss house captain four times, in weeks 2, 6, 7, and 8.
