After completing her education, she worked as a model and beauty pageant participant for five years. She won the ‘Miss Coimbatore 2004’ crown and placed second in Miss Kerala 2005. She began her career as a VJ at SS Music before moving on to acting. She took part in the Telugu reality TV show Bigg Boss Telugu 2 as a surprise entry.
When she was eight, Pooja made her début in an advertisement. She has done assignments in Bangalore and Coimbatore before winning the Miss Coimbatore crown. She’d also done a small role in the Jayaram-Soundarya film Yathrakarude Sradhakku.
Following 2012, Pooja became a full-time actress and has done major roles in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films. In the romantic comedy Love Failure and its Telugu version Love Failure, she played a minor part in 2012.
Her debut in 2014, Adavi Kachina Vennela, saw her take on the role of a housewife.
Pooja shot the romantic drama Ore Nyabagam, which is set to be India’s first 2D high frame rate film. She is also working on the suspense thriller Andhaghaaram, the horror-comedy Muni 3: Ganga, the romantic comedy Nanbenda, and Swamy Ra Ra’s Tamil remake Saamiyattam. She has also committed to two Telugu movies.
